Interesting: Google Open Source Blog: Bringing 64-bit data to R

Google Open Source Blog: Bringing 64-bit data to R: Romain Francois, the author of Rcpp, RProtobuf, has created a new R package int64 for 64-bit integers. Google has sponsored his development of the package.

From an earlier post, we know that Eddelbuettel, Romain Francois and John Chambers (creator of the S language, from which R is developed) have been invivted to the Google Code team. Amazing to know that Google invests in R, and looking forward to seeing it further smoothingly interweaved in our research flows.
